A gorgeous vintage planter for the Scotty collector on your list - age unknown - probably late 1950's or 1960's.
This is a wonderfully old Scottie Planter from Japan. It is in very good condition, with only glaze imperfections around the rim and a bit of color-wearing from age. It features an adorable Scottie begging for a treat (or perhaps waiting for her folks to come home). Background is a basketweave, painted fence; Scottie is black and white with red tongue and collar. There are few antique Scottie planters out there so it is hard to determine the age. Research show that this particular style probably dates back to the 50's. A wonderful vintage Scottie for the Scottish Terrier lover on your list!!
- It stands approximately 6.5" H and 4" W
- Can be filled with silk flowers or used as pencil holder, etc. Looks very nice with no fillings
- Is rough at top rim, probably glaze imperfections. Has no chips, cracks or crackling
- Some paint is weathered off (may also be a glaze imperfection), but overall appearance is very good.
